whatever makes me stop and stare

Originally the blog was a commentary on art. I focused on artists making social commentary. Art and culture. The use of text in art. Art as activism ... but really whoever/whatever made me stop and stare that week, I'd post up about it.

Now, I write about whatever pauses me long enuf to stop me browsing and makes me stare.

The blog title 'browse stop stare move on' comes from observing the way some people experience art in an exhibition setting. It looks like this:

Browse the gallery walls, skim reading at a pace anywhere between a saunter and a speed walk. At some point you'll be passin by on a piece that for whatever reason, just makes you stop.

You stare at it for a bit, closer up, step back, gaze, you like it enuf you read info card. Maybe take the artists name. You browse it a bit longer, but then you move on. I see us doing this outside art spaces too.

Social media ...we Scroll til something stops our browse and we pause a millisecond to decide whether to keep on movin or stare in deeper thru the window

Flickin channels, browsing netflix, Sometimes I'm staring out of like or interest, sometimes not so much.
